The participants of the first edition of Limak ASI have graduated

The participants of the first edition of Limak Institute for Airport Services have graduated in an official ceremony organized to mark the event. The 30 first participants have successfully completed the training program and have received international certification, acknowledged by more than 200 airports in the world.

“Limak ASI represents an opportunity for the talented students that wish to become part of this industry. The Institute increases the skills and the capacities of the students and makes them ready to offer airport services.”, declared Mr. Haldun Firat Kokturk, the CEO at the Limak Kosovo International Airport.

Participants were also saluted by Mr. Nihat Ozdemir, the owner and the board director of Limak enterprises. “Our expertise has helped us achieve great things in great places. We have offered space were students will not only get employed, but will also study. They have the opportunity to achieve a lot more and we are happy to have done this. This makes us really happy.”, where the words of Mr. Ozdemir for the participating guests at the ceremony.

Limak Aviation Services Institute is a project financed by Limak Kosovo International Airport, and is developed in close cooperation with the University of Prishtina, Bogazici University from Turkey, ENAC Institute in France and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Kosovo.

Deputy Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Anila Statovci – Demaj, stated the importance of having results based on good cooperation and reminded the guests of the cooperation the country has had with the Bogazici University, also during the 90s. Right after the Deputy Minister, the floor was given to the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Blerand Stavileci.

Minister Stavileci, reminded everyone of the positive results of a joint fruitful cooperation and also of the importance of implementing activities of  corporate social responsibility. According to Minister Stavileci, such activities should be an example for many other corporations and should be further intensified.

Prof. Haxhi Gashi, the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Prishtina, spoke on the need of cooperating with the private sector, to generate new working places and to meet the market demands. “An economic model based on free market and competition, is the focus of the University. In this context, it is highly important for us to adjust studies based on the market demand and the market trends.”, declared Prof. Gashi for the guests.

Guests were also part of the speech by the representative of the Bogazici University. “I would like to underline the importance of cooperating with Limak Holding and I would like to call it as something very valuable, its one of the best examples of cooperation between the industry and the University”, said Prof. Mehmet Ozkan, vice rector at the Bogazici University.

Limak Aviation Services Institute aims to increase professional and academic skills of participating students from the University of Prishtina, in the field of management and airport services. The Institute has trained students and has offered internship opportunities at the Airport. After the completion of the program and the certification of the participants, students were offered employment at the Airport and other similar institutions. In closing of the ceremony, all students received two types of certificates

The program was awarded with numerous prestigious international awards.
